Why I'm Here

Many would have you to believe that music began with instrumentation.
Truth be told, the very first instrument known to man was the human voice.
Everything thereafter has only sought to emulate the beauty and
pitch-perfect elocution of a voice telling a story that is felt as much as it is
understood.

Music. That's what voice and language sound like to me. The passion of a
spiritual, the faith found in gospel, the loving pain etched in every blues rift,
the passion of Shakespeare, the beautiful simplicity of Nikki Giovanni -
that's what I hear when I write.

Just like all music, there's some good and some bad. I endeavor to have
created more of the former than the latter before my life's aria comes to a
close.

Fiction, essays, poetry, published and unpublished - you'll find links and
updates on all my creative endeavors here.

Thank you for listening to my opus.
